HOW DOES THE OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR WORK?
An oxygen concentrator is a medical device designed to provide oxygen continuously by extracting it directly from the ambient air. Unlike cylinders, this device does not store oxygen, but generates it in real time for the patient.
The equipment takes in the air around us and passes it through a system of specialized filters that remove dust and impurities. Then, through a process called molecular separation, the concentrator retains nitrogen and other gases, allowing oxygen to be obtained in high concentrations.
Once processed, the oxygen is delivered to the patient through a nasal cannula or mask, providing the flow indicated by the healthcare professional. Many devices also include a humidifier, which helps prevent dryness in the airways and improves comfort during treatment.
The concentrator is a practical and safe solution for prolonged respiratory therapy, as it only requires an electrical connection to operate.
At Air Group Zomac S.A.S., we offer personalized advice on the correct use of equipment, ensuring greater peace of mind, safety, and well-being for patients at home.
